Eligibility

We welcome sworn and non-sworn law enforcement personnel and their families in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.

Membership Guidelines

We are dedicated to serving those who serve. You may join LAPFCU if you're part of an eligible group (see below) or an immediate family member of a current member.

  • Sworn and non-sworn employees of municipal police or sheriff’s departments in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura counties. This includes commissioners of county municipal police departments, members of police reserve corps, and retirees or pensioners from above organizations.
  • Police cadets. If under 18 years of age, cadets must present a birth certificate, Social Security card, or school ID; if under 18 years of age and requesting a checking account or ATM/debit card, they need an adult co-signer.
  • Board members and unpaid officials/volunteers of nonprofit organizations that benefit and support municipal police or sheriff’s departments in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura counties.
  • LAPFCU employees and family1 or household2 members. This includes spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of LAPFCU; persons retired as retirees, pensioners or annuitants from LAPFCU; corporate or other legal entities in this charter; volunteers; and organizations of such persons.
  • Employees of Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, William H. Parker Foundation, or Los Angeles Police Foundation.

Once someone becomes a member, their immediate family members are eligible to join.

LAPFCU is a full-service credit union for sworn, civilian, and professional employees of police and sheriff's departments and their family members in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
